We are looking for a Executive / Senior Executive - HR Operations to join the Nimi team. You will be the operational backbone of the company, owning the people, culture, business development, and marketing functions while working directly alongside the CEO to execute on Nimi's growth agenda. You will be the person who makes things happen at Nimi — the one who ensures the team is performing, the pipeline is moving, and the culture reflects the standard we hold ourselves to. You are equally comfortable having a difficult performance conversation as you are closing a new business lead. People & Culture
• Own the full people operations function — hiring, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
• Build and maintain a culture of accountability, high performance, and genuine motivation across the Nimi team
• Lead difficult conversations with directness and fairness — you do not avoid hard situations
• Partner with the CEO and engineering leadership to set and enforce standards across the team
• Design and implement HR processes that are lean, effective, and appropriate for a fast-moving company
Business Development
• Work alongside our BD contractor to manage and grow the Nimi client pipeline
• Support the CEO on prospect outreach, proposals, and relationship management
• Own the BD reporting cadence and ensure pipeline visibility across the leadership team
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with Nimi's capabilities and product roadmap
Marketing
• Lead Nimi's marketing function with Marketing Lead
• Own Nimi's brand presence, content strategy, and LinkedIn visibility
• Drive awareness for Kapuli across tour operator and wildlife verticals
• Ensure marketing output is high quality, consistent, and tied to business outcomes
Leadership & Operations
• Act as a sounding board and trusted partner to the CEO — including pushing back when needed
• Own cross-functional coordination between engineering, delivery, people, and commercial teams
• Ensure leadership decisions are communicated clearly and executed consistently across the team
• Represent Nimi's values and standards in every interaction — internally and externally
• 3-5 years of experience in a senior operations, people, BD, or similar role — preferably in a
startup or agency environment
• You have held people accountable before and know how to do it with fairness and clarity
• You push back on leadership when you disagree — and you do it constructively
• You are energised by ambiguity and growth, not slowed down by it
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• You are Sri Lanka-based and comfortable working in a remote-first, globally distributed team
• You are genuinely interested in technology, software products, and the wildlife / travel space
• You have a track record of getting things done — not just managing processes
• 3-5 years of experience in a senior operations, people, BD, or similar role — preferably in a
startup or agency environment
